Spa Sunday take me away!

As a mom of a toddler, full time career woman, domestic goddess, and much more there is not much time that I find for myself except on Sunday nights. Oh how I love you Sunday Night.!  I like to feel refreshed and ready for whatever the new week will bring in doing so I invented my own little Sunday night spa. I usually have to wait until 8pm for the spa to open which is when my little guy goes to sleep. Once he is tucked in and fast asleep the spa is open for business, my husband is the only employee as he is the vice president of foot massages. Lol! So what I do is I get out all my executive assistants which are a sugar body scrub, deep pore cleaning mask, body butter, my wonderful smelling shower gel, hair serum, loofah, polishes, big fluffy towel, comfy jammies, and my relaxing music. I get the shower all hot and steamy, get my music player on and scrub away the week in complete bliss. Once I get out of the shower I get my most comfy jammies on and grab the massage lotion. My VP lets me put my feet up while he massages them each foot for 5 minutes while we watch Sunday football during the season. I don’t mind since he is doing me a little favor although sometimes while he is yelling at the tv it takes away from my blissful state but none the less I still feel relaxed. I then give myself a pedicure and manicure. I apply my face mask and add serum to the tips of my hair. All the aromas and smells are so invigorating but yet make me feel renewed, refreshed, and ready to start my week. This little ritual I have usually takes me about 2 hours but I’m sure you could get it done faster I just like to take my time, relax, and enjoy time for myself since it is rare. This is an inexpensive way for me to feel pampered but without the cost, appointments, and spa chatter. If you don’t have time to do all I would recommend a bubble bath and a foot massage or whatever you like but just remember to take time for yourself.

Carter our little you tube sensation!

Carter is now our little you tube sensation! We have had quite a week. On Saturday we  were driving to my sisters house which is an hour away from us, Carter fell asleep in the car. For the past few days anytime the Maroon 5 song, "moves like jagger" comes on the radio Carter would start dancing and make noises in his car seat. He really loves the song which is funny because he is one years old! Lee and I thought it would be funny to see if he would wake up from it. Sure enough, he was dancing in his sleep. We all really got in to it as any obnoxious parents like us would do.We recorded it on the iphone (r.i.p Steve Jobs, you were a brilliant man). I thought it was funny so I posted it on my facebook back and got over 30 responses with a lot of people telling me to post it on you tube. I posted it on you tube and it become a hit. On Tuesday a local radio morning show on the mix 96.9 with Mathew Blades was talking about our you tube video, telling everyone how cute it was and to check it out. The station posted the video on their website. On Wednesday another radio station KTAR had it on their website and on Wednesday we got interviewed for a mid day local show RIGHTTHISMINUTE to appear on the show. Everyone really liked the video! We have received some offers from a few talent agencies for baby modeling and commercials, but we of course need to research before we do anything. Hopefully the right offer will come along. Carter really enjoys dancing and he seems to enjoy being in front of a camera. We love our little guy and we do think he does have moves like jagger! In case you missed it below is the youtube link.

Weekend, no fun!

I finally uploaded some pictures of us on the beach. Carter and I have been under the weather this weekend but luckily Lee has been a trooper and took care of us. Carter has an ear infection and I had another sinus infection with Strep throat. What the heck, why do I get that at least 5 times a year. I don't get it. Anyway we had a long weekend of watching movies and cooking shows while laying around eating soup. I love Ina Garten, I want her to come and cook for me, wait no...I want to go to her house in the Hampton's and have her cater to me. She makes yummy stuff. I also watched Steve (something?) cant remember his name, anyway I think the show was called BBQ university on PBS. He makes unbelievable BBQ, my mouth was watering this weekend while I was coughing up my lungs in between blowing my nose. Ahhh good times, not really! I also watched the Nightmare before Christmas. Its kinda scary for being a kids movie but Carter for some reason or another really enjoys the music in the movie so what could I do. As you all know Sunday is football so I can't even remember how many games we watched. We don't really ever watch TV that much one I don't like Carter to be in front of the TV that much  and two cause there are so many other things to do that I think are better so it was kind of nice.

I am getting excited for the fall holidays approaching! I'm so looking forward to going to a pumpkin patch up north with the Spataro family- Armondo, Maureen, and baby Leela. I love the fall time. My good friend Rachel and I are ready to get our craft on. She is my crafter in crime. lol!! My other good friend Lynn is also getting to be very crafty so it should be fun making some fall decor. Ah just the thought of fall makes me want pumpkin pie, a scarf, and a pumpkin to stare at. Oh well lots to do, blog ya later!!

Getting Life In Order...kinda!

Things have been a little hectic lately! I have a highly energetic one year old so trying to find time to get things done has been tough. I've got to get myself organized. I need daily to-do list, weekly meal planning, laundry and chore list, grocery shopping list, etc... On top of this I work Monday through Thursday from 9-5. I need peace and order!! If anyone has any ideas please feel free to share. I bought myself an organizer as my sister recommended but I got overwhelmed filling it in, I immediately closed it and started this blog post!

Anyway we had Carters first birthday party with lots of 2 and 3 year olds...CRAZY!! Carter had a good time though. I will post pics soon. We also took our first family vacation to San Diego which Carter had a great time and loved loved the beach! He has no fear of the water and loved playing in the sand. I joined MOPS (mothers of preschoolers international), it will be lots of fun for Carter to have new little friends and it will be nice to get some support and fellowship from women who are raising kids and trying to do it all. Lots of things going on, I will post all the pics and fun stories in the next few weeks.

Carter growing up too fast!

So much going on, haven't had time to blog. We are getting ready for Carter's first birthday. I can't believe it, sometimes I want time to stand still just so I can take in Carter being a baby. He wants to be such a big boy. At 10 1/2 months he started walking which Lee and I were not prepared for. He is all over the place exploring and getting into things he shouldn't be getting into. He is so much fun though! Carter says a few words, dada, doggy, auntie, and nana. NO MOMMY YET!! I am patiently waiting!!!

He continues to amaze us everyday learning new things. He thinks dada is hilarious and mommy is funny every once in a while. I may be very emotional this Friday as we celebrate our little man turning one. I guess I should think of it as Dr. Suess says, "Don't be sad that it happened to fast, Be happy it happened."

We are taking Carter to San Diego for his Birthday to play on the beach. It should be lots of fun for him to have a place to roam free and feel sand in between his toes. We are then having his sock monkey themed party with all his friends when we return on Saturday September 10. Carter will start a curriculum based preschool next week just a few days a week so he can interact with kids his age and have a structured learning environment. It should be fun for him to start learning numbers, colors, shapes, letters, etc. Since Carter will be our only child we want to make sure he has every opportunity to succeed in life with strong morals, values, good head on his shoulders, social skills, and know that his parents always will love and support him.

Lots of fun stuff to look forward to and lots of planning. We had a photo shoot done for his first birthday pics. I love how they turned out. Attached are a view. Enjoy!

Carter's Feet

Okay as a new mom I want to remember Carters tiny little feet. I tried snapping a photo of them turned out objects in camera are closer than they appear! Yikes my little baby has huge feet! Anyway still a cute shot while he was sleeping.

On a side note we all have Beiber fever in the house right now! Everytime Carter hears Justin Beiber sing Baby he starts dancing and getting all crazy, to cute! I'm not ashamed that we like his music.
